Like whoa.

I just returned from the best Mando Diao concert ever.
Well, 'just' is not right. Actually it was on Monday. But.
It wasn't only a concert.

Because at first, The Hamburg Unit met to watch the soundcheck together, which was 'Gloria', 'Gold' acoustic and some jamming and then. Then we had a Meet&Greet which was just awesome. It was the first time I met them and hell, I was nervous.
At first Samuel came through the hall to us and of course everyone crowded around him. When I tried to take a nice photo of him and my sister, it was of such a bad quality that I had to take a new one (that wasn't any better, though). But Samuel took my camera and said something about 'maybe it's because of the flash' and tried to change the options but I told him it was alright and that I'd edit it in Photoshop if it's gonna look as bad on the computer screen.
Next was Gustaf, for who I had to wait for a pretty long time. When a girl asked him to smile on the photo that was going to be taken of her and him, he remained with his mouth closed and his lips moveless and said: "That is a smile." Typically Gustaf.
I soon had enough of waiting for him, which was why I ran off to CJ when I was told that he was there as well. He was standing around alone and I felt a little feeling of pity coming up. But I had still Gustaf to sign my shirt, so I went back quickly and got it signed - finally! Gustaf was talking more than ever (well I felt so, actually), he made jokes and laughed and everything, which is, as we all know, pretty seldom.
Mats and Björn popped up at the same time, but Björn's surroundings were overcrowded so I decided to let Mats sign my shirt first.
Maybe I shouldn't have done that, cause when he was finished, we had to take that group picture with the Units of Hamburg and Stade and no, Björn didn't have time for me after that. He just went away and didn't come back.
So he was unfortunately the only one who didn't sign my shirt (though it was made for him, acutally).

After getting our flyers and passing them to the fans waiting outside, we could go inside (half an hour before the regular Doors were) – which resulted with me standing in the first row.
Support acts were Gustaf's little brother Carl, who did a singer/songwriter-kind of thing and The Rumble Strips, a british band that sounded like Mika.

When Mando finally entered the stage, the crowd went mad. There were huge white stairs on the stage, on the top the drums. Every song had its own little movie that was showed on the big screens on stage.

Hightlights were definitely 'Lady', 'Burning Up' (which, as Gustaf said, was for the ladies to find 'that beautiful boy' for their life) and Gustafs ridiculous cape (black on the outside, red on the inside – definitely a 'Jack the Ripper-cape' as Noel Fielding would put it).
Some time, the lights went out and Björn and Gustaf appeared on a small stage in the middle of the hall. They played acoustic versions of 'Never Seen The Light Of Day', 'Golden', 'All My Senses' and 'The New Boy' and smoked some havanna cigars in between.

The background singers seemed to be flirting with Mats all the time, but that could have been my stupid fantasy as well.
They ended after something like 100 minutes of pure Mando Diao energy and with Gustaf taking off his shirt under the cape.

Awesome. As I said. I'd expected to have a good live show, but this one was just GREAT.

Thank you Mando Diao for making that one of the most wonderful concets of this year.
